You’ve got the intangibles like spirit, a loud cheering voice, and a willingness to be part of a crowd that makes enough noise to register on the Richter scale. But what about a stadium-approved bag or a rain poncho on drizzly days? If you’ve forgotten one of the little things that’s essential for watching the Seattle Seahawks play, here’s what we have on hand and available for purchase:

  • Disposable earplugs
  • Rain ponchos
  • Seahawks face tattoos
  • Seahawks green sunglasses
  • Stadium-approved clear plastic bags*

*In partnership with the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks enforce measures designed both to enhance public safety and expedite entry into CenturyLink Field and CenturyLink Field Event Center on Seahawks game days. NOTE: Throughout the season, fans may carry only the following style and size bag, package, or container into CenturyLink Field:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options
  • Seat cushions that have no pockets, zippered compartments, or extra straps
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the West gate, which is designated for this purpose

Seahawks Fun Facts, Traditions and Glossary

What is a Seattle Seahawks 12?

Seattle boasts some of the most loyal — and loudest — fans in the NFL. In the Northwest, we refer to them as the 12s, as only 11 players are allowed on the field for one team at any time.

  • When playing at CenturyLink, Seahawks opponents have more false starts than anywhere else in the NFL — showing just how much the roar of the crowd makes a difference.
  • In 1984, Seahawks President Mike McCormack retired the number 12 jersey forever, in tribute to how instrumental Hawks fans are to the team’s success.
  • At every home game just before kickoff, the 12 Flag is raised in honor of fans. This tradition began on October 12, 2003, when 12 original season ticket holders first hoisted the flag.
  • The flag-raising honor has gone to everyone from local celebrities to former players. Recent honorees have included owner Paul Allen, “Baby Got Back” rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot, and Jack Patera, the team’s first head coach.

Legion of Boom

Starting in 2012, the defensive backs of the Seattle Seahawks have been known as the Legion of Boom. Current starting players include cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane, and safeties Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. Their aggressive defense is legendary, as is their penchant for trash talking.

Once in a Blue Friday

Blue Friday is a Seattle Seahawks tradition in which fans wear their favorite Seahawks gear on Fridays to support the team. Originally it was for game day Fridays, but now you’ll see team gear all over the city every Friday during the season.
